I have two of his barrels and I know of several others. You will see more than a few at the NMLRA Western National Shoot. Go to the x-stix and bench range and ask around.

Smylee grouch. How do your Carpenter barrels shoot? What caliber? What twist? Are they round ball barrels? Would you recommend his barrels to a friend?

My first one is a 40 tappered 32 inch which I use for ofhand shooting, groups into one ragged hole at 50.  My second is a 62 tappered with an English style pattent breech still under construction, hopefuly ending up looking like a John Manton halfstock flinter. Shooting partners have some of Jims barrels and they all shoot great. One is a 62 that prints 3-shot clover leafs at 100 yards.
