Roger has too much time on his hands. Anybody know his wife's email address? It's time to let her know. I'm sure she has a honeydo list.

I love staining and finishing.  It's the payoff for all the work.

I love the rough shaping using hand tools after mr. band saws done. The planning of the carving is fun as well. I also like to drink a glass of red wine while contemplating the next project. We have a great little winery on the other side of Battle ground WA that is making some fantastic wines.

My favorite part is staining, and finishing. On the squirrel rifle I helped by rubbing on the linseed oil.

Also firing the first shot was awsome!!! ;D

My favorite task is making ramrod pipes, thimbles, patchboxes and nose caps.   I enjoy forming all the sheet metal parts.  I also enjoy inletting the patch box.  Stock shaping comes in a close second.

I enjoy filing out and polishing the metal parts be that barrel, lock, any of the castings or other mountings.  My favorite part of the gun is making the lock.

I think the final sanding right before everything comes apart to be stained.  You can tell somethings been accomplished then.  Oh yeah Accer, I like whiskey too.

Reflection...I like to see the finished rifle and really look over what was done, what I might have done a bit different, reflecting on the spot (or spots!) that were a b*&^h that look fine now, what might I do to the next one...and of course a bit of Jack....

Staring at finely inlet inlays and knowing it took a lot of work to get them set in. I also enjoy engraving....sort of like the frosting on the cake.

I like pouring nose caps. They look like !@@#$ after you take the dam off but with a little filing and sanding they come to life.

Lock inletting.  It's always challenging and very satisfying when it comes out well.
