getting started early

I placed an order for a .25 caliber barrel and wanted to get started on other required items while I wait. Can someone tell me what to start with to make a ramrod and ball starter for this small caliber?  All of my stuff is for .50 Cal.

You're going to need a 1/4" hickory ramrod blank, but you're not going to be able to make the ramrod until you have the rifle together so that you can figure out exactly how much you're going to have to plane or sand off that blank to get it to go in the ramrod hole as well as the bore.
