Who all is going to the Chillicothe shoot?
« on: February 02, 2014, 04:44:17 PM »
I know it isn't until March 1 - but who all is planning on attending?  I know the club would like to know a count, so they can plan their food purchase for their kitchen that Ross County has.  I would also imagine they would need the count to insure enough targets and are available as well.
I know that I am pretty excited to go, this snow and cold weather has me at my wits end!  I need to hear the boom and smell the burnt gun powder!  Plus interact with like minded people!

I am going to try to make it. The hand may not be healed enough to shoot but I'd like to see what they have going, range wise etc.

That would be great Mark.  Hopefully you will be able to shoot, if not, it is always fun to visit with like minded folks.  The Ross County Bowhunters are a great bunch of folks.

Had a great time at the shoot yesterday.  There was about 12 people there shooting. First time shooting my .32 Flintlock Tennessee style rifle.  I've mainly shot percussion, this is the first time for a flintlock.  I did shoot well enough to get three first places on three of the seven targets. Some of the other shots I got distracted with the flash of the pan. I don't know if I had too much powder in the pan or what it was.  I know when I really bored down and followed through after the shot, I did much better.
I don't know how to post photos on here. If someone would email me, I will provide the photos and you can post them for me.
