Looking for a source of lead free percussion caps for my Renegade. Are the German RWS caps lead free? Have no problems with lead coming out the other end but would would prefer to keep it out of our faces. Thanks!
We have to ask what the risks REALLY are. How many people have developed problems from shooting percussion guns?
Remember that the BRASS hardware anywhere on the ML or in valves in your water system have (horrors) lead in it. Many ML barrels made in the US have a significant lead content.
This lead phobia is completely out of control.
I suspect if you live within 100 yards or even 1/4 mile of a major highway, gravel road or street that dates to the 40-50s that your property is surely contaminated with lead from gasoline using Tetra-ethyl Lead as and anti-knock component. Then all the lead the was distributed over Europe from those 1000 bomber raids in WW-II lots of lead in that 120-140 octane stuff. Then the masses of lead left ofter from battles over the past 300 years or more that lead projectiles have been used. Likely billions of rounds in WW-I alone. The whole place is toxic waste dump. How do people survive there? Wonder how much lead was put in the soil during the battle if the Somme for example.
Good grief its wonder everyone in northern France has not died.
Shooting Pyrodex produces small amounts if Cyanide. (Horrors again).
Is nothing safe?
I guess you need some corrosive caps. They don't have lead in them SFAIK. Unless the metal parts are leaded brass. Is nothing safe?
