Peter Moll @ Auction

Here is a Peter Moll. Looks kind of shiny. The lock almost looks case hardened. Could be a modern replacement, or just the way the picture makes it look.

If that's a 50 caliber, the barrel must be inch and a quarter at least across the flats?
Somebody doesn't know how to measure.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

I have to agree with both the previous observations. There is finish in the bottom of the chip near the buttplate, so the gun has been refinished. And, as previously stated if the barrel is 15/16ths across the flats as stated, the bore can not possibly be .50 cal.
