Another Four Ringed Horn
« on: February 24, 2014, 05:38:16 PM »
This one is rather large at about 13” around the outside curve, it is based on a horn form a private collection, on the original two bands were missing but you can see the ghost rings were they were, I added them back. The base is Walnut and is about 2 1/4”, hollowed out about 3/4s its length and held in by 4 pins. The tip is two part antler held together with 3 pins and attached to the horn with 3 more. The bands were heated and pressed on then secured with 3 pins each.

This horn looks great to me. I like the color and the work, on the antler tip, to complete this project. Thanks for sharing Tim. AJ

Nice Tim. All the elements of this horn work well together but I really like the curve on this one and the color.
