I've seen at least a couple guns with r. hand locks with the cheeckpiece on the r. side. Also seem to recall a gun with a right hand lock and cheekpieces on both sides. I can recall they were all late flint period. As far as what books there in... that I would have to think about for a while. Regards, TC

Flintlocks? No. I do have a percussion fullstock by Louis Karns that is made this way. It has a right-hand lock with a cheekpiece on the same side and an oval sheet brass patchbox on the opposite side. I have two percussion rifles with a cheekpiece on both sides.

Not exactly what you are talking about. There is a Jaeger Rifle on page 56 in Shumways collection of Muzzle Blasts articles Jaeger Rifles. The stock is shaped in such a way,as to be shot right handed but use your left eye.It has a right handed flintlock.Made by Johann Georg Dax,Munich 1714-1743.

I used to own a percussion 1/2 stock by Philo Soper of Ontario, that had a cheek piece of both sides.  Some SOB stole it from me 15 years ago.  I also have seen one other rifle by a different maker and with a cheek piece both sides
