Does anyone know when Ashmore was selling locks marked R Ashmore and Son? The lock is a flintlock and I am trying to figure when the rifle (unmarked) could have been made. I know that it is possible that the lock may have sat on the shelf for a few years before used in the rifle, but just trying to get a ball park idea. I have seen locks marked Ashmore but not with Son. Thanks.
