Harpers Ferry 1816/38
« on: May 03, 2014, 09:33:22 PM »
If this isn't in the correct place please move it.

I have an original, but sporterized, (and no I didn't sporterize it) 1816 Harpers Ferry .69 cal. musket on the tail of the lock is Harpers Ferry 1838 in two lines.  It has the bolster conversion to percussion with the initials H & P stamped upside down in the side of the bolster  If you are looking at the lock side of the gun the initials are upside down instead of being right side up as are the eagle and US in front of the hammer.

My question is does anyone know who H & P are or have any information on them?
