Chris is correct for the large Siler cock jaw screw. Although I just went and looked at some of my other locks and some other brands have different screw diameters and thread pitch such as --
1) Small Siler 12 X 24 --my jaw screw measures .210" in dia.
2) L & R double throat flint 1/4" X 28
3) Davis 12 X 24 my jaw screw measures .212

thanks Stophel,  that's the screw I was talking about. I thought it was an 8x32 but I couldn't get my tap to go in but about one and a half turns and wanted to make sure it wasn't an 8x40 or something.  I bought the tumbler already hardened and it just had some carbon in the threads.  This particular lock is a Davis made for the 1803 Harpers Ferry.  I bought it about 15 or more years ago and never did anything but shoot it til just lately.  My old hammer screw was not an 8x32, so either the works are not Siler parts, or the size of the hammer screw has changed since the late 90's.  But its all good now.  Sparkin and smoking!   8)
