Looking for info on John Graeff gunsmith of Lancaster PA
« on: May 21, 2014, 02:23:11 AM »
I am trying to learn more about John Graeff who worked in Lancaster (died in 1803 or 1804).  I have read a few basics that Kindig wrote, and Shumway.  Has anybody done any research on his origins or has found any documents pertaining to him?  Or relation to other Graeff's such as William in Reading, or Jacob Graeff in Lancaster who are also both makers of the same era?  I saw one list that had Jacob Graeff and John Graeff on the same list of makers in about 1775 in Lancaster.  If anyone has any info they care to share, examples of his work etc, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

DaveM,
Patrick Hornberger has done some research on the Graeff Gunsmiths from Berks Co. I believe I saw his number posted in the Kindig Book thread.

Buck thanks for the lead.  i'd love to find the connection from William Graeff to John and the Lancaster Graeffs.
