Leather aprons are hot, soak up sweat, always smell, and are hard to clean.

K Ws got it right!!! Since you already make your canvas aprons, and know where they wear...... just build a new canvas apron, and put wear patches of leather where needed. Best of both worlds! Canvas for cool, Leather for longevity! ;D

When I was in the Pattern Trade everyone wore a white apron.
The ones with the cross straps were always the most comfortable. One side pocket and a smaller one up on the chest for a pencil and steel rule.

One day one of the guys was bragging about how well his diet was coming along. So each week someone would snip about a 1/4" off the ends of his apron strings. After about a month he finally says in disgust, "this @!*% diet is not working so well, I can't hardly even get my apron strings tied!!"

No one had the heart to tell him.
