The Seminar has been over form almost a week but I have been on the road and am just now getting around to posting some photos. The seminar was great again this year, all the instructors were top notch! I would encourage anyone who has not taken a class at the seminar to do so in the near future!

I was only there for six days this year so I did not get photos from many of the classes.

I took the engraving class taught by one of ALR's own, Jim Kibler. Jim is a very talented artist as well as an excellent teacher and the class was a great learning experience!!

Great pix! Wish I could have simultaneously attended each seminar... lots to learn. Thank you for posting.

I see one thing that you can get by with a 100 times but could bite you hard on 101 or 1001 - pouring molten metal without proper protective gear. All it takes is a bit of trapped moisture to explode one of those molds all over. I used to help the metal sculptors in the shop next to my pottery studio pour and I've seen it happen even with all the mold drying procedures prior to a pour.

Hey James! The trip to Colonial Williamsburg went great - lots of cool stuff to see there, just got home a couple of hours ago. We also went o Jamestown and to Yorktown. I think Jamestown was the most interesting of them all, they are still making fantastic archeological discoveries and were excavating some while we were there. How was Friendship?

Curtis,
Did they happen to mention anything about the site being flooded and lost in future years due to the rising ocean levels? I read somewhere that it is one of the places slated to disappear.

No mention of that while I was there, Dave...... however it is only a few feet above sea level so it is logical to think it would be flooded with enough rise in sea level.

What a great sampling of the classes Curtis. I remember standing there watching the brass pour thinking to myself (this occurs to me very year) that the quality of these classes are absolutely astounding. We are very lucky indeed. A year or so ago talking with Trevor. He stated that he was amazed that there wasn't a 2+ year waiting list to get into these classes.
