:) Thanks guys, I see they still have them but wonder about the quality of the caps. I remember using Remington a while back had a lot of duds plugging the nipple. The price sure looks good I will have to consult with follow members on this. Like to hear from anybody having good result with these Remington caps, thanks again.  ;D

I bought 1000 of the #11 Remington's a year ago and have had no problems.  Supposedly, they are new and improved..

I wouldn't wait too long. When they are gone at this price, that's it.

I did buy caps from Third Generation Supply some  weeks ago when first mentioned .
While the tape on the case was dry indicating to me these have been on the shelf some time ,the caps went off just fine and the tins inside were clean and well sealed .
I'm saving my #11 CCI's for matches,and using these Remington's for plinking .

The price was right in any case and they are certainly a lot better than the old french caps I used to buy 30 years ago .Haven't had a misfire yet which is more than I can say about the ''reenactor'' 4 wing musket caps when compared to the older 6 wing .The 4 wing caps which are running about 3-4 misfires per tin .They all go off just not enough ummph to light the main charge .

It might be some time before CCI runs caps again as my pal who works at the local ATK plant told me some time ago percussion caps are run on the same line as regular primers for centerfire which is in much higher demand in the last few years ,and more profitable .
he advised our small club at the time to buy up caps when we saw them .
As traditional side lock shooters our small demand is not much of a blip on the radar.

As a general rule BP shooters are notoriously cheap as we are all do it yourselfers.
We scavenge lead ,don't use any brass cases ,frequently make our own patches, invent lubes from the kitchen cupboard, use water to clean our barrels instead of special solvents etc.

I maintain that the creation of inlines was create profitability by making expensive bullets with plastic sabots  and special powder pellets needing 209 primers to even get it to go off.

The price will be higher I expect .There will be pent up demand too.

Still working on the rocklock .
Regards Stuart

Walker Mt.,
Did you order 50 tins of 100 caps or 5000 tins of 100 caps? Haha.

You guys kill me.  We don't get to choose where we buy our caps.  And we pay $65.00/1000 and are happy we can get them at that.

I like CCI , but does anyone remember the old Hi-Score caps from the late 70's early 80's ? they were a hot cap always dependable.

I still have several tins of RWS no 11s. They last a looong time when shooting mostly flinters. Those flintlock revolvers are hard to come by.

Our BP group is thinking about having an IDPA type shoot for flintlock pistols.  But first we have to replace all those digital timers with sundials.  ;)
