Want a good laugh?

I finally got my Bedford out to shoot and it shot way better than I ever expected. Two things: I shot about 35 shots and a few times I had the butt incorrectly on my shoulder. I had a good bruise the next day. I spent hours polishing all the brass and did not like all the scratches to the butt plate from loading. Since I do leatherwork I made a butt plate guard that will both protect the butt plate and give me a little padding until I get more experience. Dan

Dont know what you mean by incorectly on your shoulder but I think most Bedford rifles should be shot off the arm.

I wouldn't leave that on the stored rifle. You might end up with a line across your p-box and buttplate thet would be difficult to remove without going back to a high polish.

Whaleman That is some first class top notch leather work there! Good stitchin, burnished edges. Do you make holsters? If not you should start!  ;D

Micah, It was only 65 grains os FFF in a .45. Not the load. I was trying to shoot off a makeshift bench in my back  yard. I was sighting in and it was just a few shots that I had the butt on my shoulder and not my arm. The brusing was not huge just some yellow and one spot of purple. Dan
