Thanks to Eric, for again doing my photo posting.
After looking over all the great ideas, I thought Dave's suggestion most closely fit the pose presented by the "turkey" on the patchbox. I just filled in some background and it was a rather simple job after that to do something kind of typical of the era represented by the clients gun... Thanks to all for your suggestions.
