yer killing me
« on: September 08, 2014, 08:20:56 PM »
Been looking reading and some posts. Ya'll got me wanting to build again.  Shame on ya'll.
Going to do some research and try to get my forge going again. Maybe a southern gun.
I decided I can't let my health stop me any more. Going to take a while , but going to
push ahead.  Maybe even a light trade gun.

Recall William Buchele, half a lifetime ago when I thought 70 old. Told me when he watched TV this hurt & that ached, while something else didn't work.

When he was in his shop building one of those beautiful rifles of his, all was just fine.

Keep at it.

It's about being where you want to be. Knew a couple who retired and sold their home and bought a condo in Florida and had a summer home in the mountains on the river. She liked the condo and he liked the river. There would be a tremendous change in his physical appearance when they were at the river. He would magically appear to loose about ten years after being there a few days.

On the 17th I will have surgery to remove the tumor under my left arm for the second time.
I hope for good news and grace from God for a quick recovery. Going to start with a
proactive move and get some parts.  Thank you all for the encouragement.

Ok, if all goes well I'm going to step out and build an early Dutch style club butt.
An 11 ga and a TRS lock. I will do my best at forging again too. I love the big butted
guns with big locks. Maybe give it to one on my sons.

Well home from surgery. Now wait on test results. Can't lift over 10 lbs. till Oct 5.
I know there is , but what books are good to help design a club butt fowler ?   ;D
