Ron Luckenbill generously supplies me with scraps of curly maple. I found a nice piece, which I used to make the base plug and stopper. The "flame" was so pronounced that I decided to leave it natural - just a friction polish.

Brookville; Sir, very interesting horn. I like the completed work. Nicely done, great workmanship. Have a great week end. Thanks for sharing. AJ

Great looking horn Eric.  I would like to see that one carried for about 30 years and aged 150.  Can't imagine how pretty it would be then.  Your turning is great and the colors are too.  Real nice.  Maybe someday when I am not inundated with faxes, email and phone calls, I will be able to focus long enough to do work that precise.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Oh I am really disappointed.  After looking at the subject line of your post I had a thought about how great it would be to have a horn which would call in Blondes and was going to ask about how you tuned it for maximum effect.   ;D

I do like your powder horn though.

That's funny!  I was guessing that someone would open the post expecting a blonde joke.  Thanks, everyone for the nice compliments.
