Just one more (compass)
« on: September 18, 2014, 10:16:50 PM »
I made this for an upcoming blanket shoot at the local longrifle club.  The compass is 2" dia.  I turned the box from Chestnut.

Those of you who have worked with Chestnut will know that it's splintery, full of holes and breaks easily (that's the second lid I made).  Not suitable for carving or really fine detail, but has a beautiful color and interesting texture.
