The Usual Suspect
A simple horn

I finished this horn this weekend including the strap attachments. It was a thin horn that wouldn't allow a lot of deep carving. I think I probably picked it for a banded horn but I wanted to do something different with it. This is supposed to be a simple Southern horn which would go with a plain Southern rifle. A floral pattern was common on Southern horns (just not this pattern) so I used my favorite one to practice my scrimshaw. The tip plug on this horn matches the flower in the pattern. I thought of dying this horn but Pam wanted to use a piece of strap that she found with it. So no dye. I'll try to post a picture of them together. I'm fairly happy with how it came out.

Good looking horn Steve. I would like to see some color on it, maybe a little AF and dark stain on the base but you know that's just me.
