     John Derr, the maker of this rifle is listed and an example of his work is in Pat Hornberger's  in Berks Co. rifles.  I am building one for a client and this rifle is similar to the one in the book, but a little less ornate.  It is too bad they didn't show the carving, or perhaps there is none.

Well that one did not bring much. Here is another one. This one is more attractive to me.  That John Derr guy must have made a lot of rifles.  Seems  I see more of his rifles at these auctions than most other makers.
