The 37mm would make a good - 'heavy' for dangerous game now, wouldn't it - of course, one must be able to stand up to the recoil of enough powder to make it do some work - THAT's the question.  An 8 ounce projectile will kill anything as long as enough powder can be used to make it do work.

It won best military arm at Dixons that year. He said that when it was fired, the torque of the fast twist rifling almost twisted it out of his hands.

Thanks guys! It has been an interesting build. Lots of little things cropped up that I did not even think about when I started this project. Like the std 1/8" drill bit will not reach through the stock. 1/8" pin stock was used for all the lugs and trigger pinning. I usually like to run my taps through the stock as a guide when tapping the lock plate. Not on this beast.  ;D  Probably the hardest part was inletting the barrel tang and I just did not expect that. It is real easy to roll or shave off the edge corner of the tang mortise when you are about 3/4" in but still taking the barrel in and out. Just the weight of the barrel itself will crush a corner if you are just the least bit crooked and I can say you can get your fingers pinched with a 20 lb. barrel! That just don't happen to often on a normal build. :D

I did take it over to Nobelsville yesterday for a show and tell and the guys got a big hoot out of it. Especially the video of Dell shooting it! This afternoon I will start the "Finishing", brass wood ect.
Take care
