Almost glad to lose!!
« on: February 17, 2009, 06:31:58 PM »
Shot the smoothbore agg at Sheshequin week or 2 ago.  Included bottles at 25 yds, slug gun 5 bull at 50 and the black buffalo at 50 plus hawk knife and fire start.

Ended up in 2nd place (much like kissin your sister).

When I pounded young Luke on the back and told him @!*% nice shooting Luke and you beat me fair and square he answered "took me 8 years"!!!!

That made me feel better - well almost!!! ;D

Roger,

To drift off a bit here.

I heard this morning that we lost Ralph.  Very sad.  He will be missed.

Way to go Roger- get used to 2nd, then third, then also-ran - comes with getting , well, shall be say, long in the tooth.

Won't comment on kissin sisters.  To bad about the feelings we have concerning second place.  I do not know how many folks were entered but it meant that you still did better than others.  My last series of competitons was 3-D archery with traditional bows.  I may not have won every match. but I usually placed.  No one consistantly won, sometimes they set up targets made just for me other times they seemed to know my weaknesses.  I did similarily when I shot ML's.  Placing feels good, seeing others win adds to the fun.  Next time hes the one to beat.  I ahve also wondered if I could shoot better if I used Grecian formula.  Haven't shot as well since getting grey hairs.

Ralph Quaintance age 74 lost to a massive heart attack.  He was an original!
Very knowledgeable on abt every subject.  Helped out at many shoots and attended abt all we ever had at our club.  An independent soul.  Life member of NMLRA and I do believe the NRA.  Last several years his health did not allow him to shoot in the matches. Was a 'regular' At Chuck Dixons.  He will surely be missed....................
