Bore view
« on: December 21, 2014, 05:01:48 AM »
AS i bought this USB micro-scope for something else, I have no idea what is on the mkt specifically for this purpose, but that some folks like to look at the bore.  I don't think i'll be using it a lot.

Problem here is that the light and photo switch on the cord limits depth to about 20".

The bright light at the end of the tunnel is the reflection on my polished breech plug (not mirror, but taken to 1000-grit).  The illumination source is the scope.  The lights aren't full-on in that pic. Depth of field is short. Supereyes is the logo on the side, around 30 bucks, .433" diameter-so 45 cal and up.

(tow and water then water displacing number 40, been loaded 5.5 weeks.)

Looks pretty good, for an inexpensive bore light, but of course, the definition is a bit weak.

I'd like to be able to go 48" deep with it, but I see really all i need to know with this one.

There's a similar thread over there in accoutrements ...

And just a glance around the big A found me a higher resolution end-scope on 5m of cable, that will fit down to 34 cal.  Neato.

i bought the first one in order to inspect razor edges.

You can get a better picture if you put something down the bore.

Yeah, a hank of tow would have muted the reflection.  Those LED's are quite bright and turned down nearly off in the pic.  Also that wasn't the best pic--just one that I saved for other porpoises.
