inletting question

For those of you familiar with half stock rifles.
When inletting the nose cap and entry pipe, which is done first?
Nose cap or entry pipe? It seems to me that the entry pipe would be first, but I have not done it before.

If you're building a rifle where the nose cap and the entry thimble touch as in Hawken rifle I put the nose cap on first,then inlet the entry thimble. This allows the nose cap to determine the location of the entry thimble. On recessed entry thimble (think Vincent) it doesn't matter. Just my way of doing it. Tim

Tim:  I do the same - nose piece first, and then entry pipe.
