Im preparing to make a bag with a bison flap. The bison is hair on and will be lined with red trade wool. When seaming and edging this stuff do i clip the fur along the sewing area or just sew right through it?

In the past I would sew at an angle through the hide. coming out at the edge
of it below the hair. If you sew through it the hair will bunch up and look bad.
