Banded Horn 19/1
« on: January 19, 2015, 05:56:20 PM »

This one is about 13” around the outside curve and 11” Tip To Tip. The base is Walnut held in by 4 pins that also hold the base band. It is hollowed out about 3/4s it’s length. The center band is horn and the upper is Pewter, both held with 3 pins each. The tip is two parts, held together with 3 pins and attached to the horn with 3 more.  Color on the body id from some old dye the two bands are natural except for a little Brown shoe polish.

Very nice looking horn Tim, especially the addition of the pewter band sets this apart from most.  Thanks for sharing.

I really like that one Tim.  The pewter band is something I'd not seen before, but it is instantly likeable.
I also appreciate the contrast between the blonde bands and the dyed body.  Well done sir.

It is also great to see you back to posting your functional art here in Accoutrements.  My wallet may not be so happy.   ;-)

Best wishes,   Marc

I am glad it went over well, Thanks.
I will see if I can get a Tutorial out on making Pewter bands in a week or so.
