Hot off the bench
« on: January 20, 2015, 07:28:38 PM »
I have not posted in a while, Thought I would share.
No style or era was in mind at the time. Kinda a fantasy piece (if you will).

This one features a 7 3/4" blade of 0-1 steel, 5" through tang grip of Birdseye Maple, Iron and brass spacers with Iron threaded button on the pommel, all lightly aged and made by hand.
Hope you enjoy a look. As always all comments welcome.

I don't see anything "fantasy" about it.  It's just a well done piece reminiscent of the bowie or fighting knife era.  Good job!!

I like the stacked file work on the brass.  Real real nice.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

That is an elegant knife. Not too fancy, not too plain, just simply perfect.

I don't know much about cutlery of the proper era, but I do know that that's one FINE piece of work.  Thanks for sharing, and don't be a stranger.
