Large barrel and a Roller lock
« on: January 24, 2015, 05:41:41 PM »
I was born into a gun making family and have been associated with southern riffles my whole life. in the early seventies a rifle with a Large barrel and a Roller lock was considered  top shelf around here.( south WV) I never met either one of theses guys although Roller lives less than two hours west of me. it's too late to say it to Large but not too late to say "Thanks" to Roller.  Thanks for an outstanding product. I just happen to have one of those seventies rifles you mentioned, no finer combination of barrel and lock could be made, then or now.

Good thought there Cerper +1 from me! We often fail to credit those who deserve and Mr. Roller has a Mountain of knowledge!

I used to attend the Traditional Archery Shoot there at the Lodge and was really dissapointed when it was moved, where you ever there?

Guys, you are embarrassing me.I do however appreciate the nice comments about my locks
and I'll also tell Bill's daughter,Jeanette what has been said.As far as me being a mountain of knowledge,
maybe a mole hill but nothing more.I did have the good fortune to be in the "right"places at the right times
and am glad for it.
I have tried my best over a long period of time to make a decent item in my locks and triggers and the lack of
broken ones seems to bear that out.
Thanks again for the recognition and there are others as well besides Bill Large and Bob Roller that have kept
our sport/hobby activities alive over the years.

Bob, a molehill of knowledge that is accessible and shares the knowledge is much more valuable than a mountain that's too busy or isolated to do so.  Thanks for hanging out with this bunch.  I think that's safe to say from ALL of us.

IF I have information that is useful,I see no reason not to share it.I am not a gun maker,
only a dabbler in trying to make one.None of us have all the answers but all of us each
have at least a few answers.
