Saw these this morning and was, as always, impressed with Scott's work on St. Louis horns. Cathy's straps really set these off. If you don't check Art and Jan's blog daily, you should. It's one of my 5 go to's every day.

Scotts work is top notch. I have 3 southern horns he made for me
Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning

The St Louis horns are outstanding. I would like to learn more about them, if I remember right I think I once saw a how to on them but cannot remember where, any help on that would be appreciated.

I've seen Scott do one but like you, I don't remember where. Maybe he will bless us with that information. I know the butt is bone and ebony or black horn sections fit onto the plug, pinned into the plug, and held in the center by the finial. Certainly a complex horn to make but a very rewarding result.
