Original S.Hawken arrived!
« on: February 05, 2015, 05:15:18 AM »
I got the bores cleaned up and fitted the barrels to the tang. Now the tang and barrel and setting up in JB weld until the morning. Also fit the nose cap and trigger guard to the stock. Just had to drill holes for them is all, but its slowly coming tomorrow. Now if some darn parts would arrive!

Best part of this St.Louis Hawken is the fact shes a SLOW twist!!

Also came with the original box and the warranty/how to build, manual.

I also have another factory finished CVA Hawken on the way. I love building these babies up!  My far my all time favorite production rifle built.

I see a jeweled lock coming on her as well!

I really appreciate your enthusiasm, but am I presumptuous to assume that you DO know the difference between these, and an "Original S. Hawken"?

Other than one costing $30,000, there's very little difference.

Hey Johathan, I have the Traditions Springfield Hawken 50cal with 1-66 twist bore is a little rough but is still a good shooter. Also I really like playing with these CVA and Traditions rifles  affordable and good shooters, I have one CVA Hawken 54cal that was causing me problems getting it to shoot as accurate as i wanted but lucky for  me Daryl came to my rescue ,now "OLE HAIG "is behaving real well.
But don't get me wrong I dearly love the real Hawken rifles, I have a copy of the a Kit Carson and love it 58 cal and all.

Hey i might be going through your area again this yr maybe give you a call. Best of luck with the new toy i'm sure it will be a shooter.

Not an original, but a mite closer to the truth.  There should be a charge for that kind of false advertising.

The rifle Daryl has posted has its deficiencies - departures from original Hawken rifles.  I am humbly prepared to concede that.  I continue to strive for perfection - it's a wonderful journey.

But FML, if you continue to profess that your rifles are just as close to being like the original rifles, I suspect you are either just trying to push buttons here, or you don't know the difference between a Lada and a Lincoln.

Well, FM, now that we're got that out of the way, I wish you joy in your new build.  You certainly bring out the best in those 'kits', and none can dispute how well you shoot them.

There sure have been a lot of incredibly boring Hawken threads in recent weeks.
