Nice! Bet she is very happy! Did you have to work the triggerguard down to scale? I had to down scale everything on my kids rifle

Actually I had that Lehigh guard laying in the shop and she fit perfectly. I don't know where I got it or who I got it from.

That is a great muzzleloader for a youngster! I hope she gets lots of small game with it.

There was finally a break in the weather yesterday and Abby and I finally had the opportunity to shoot her rifle after school. We didn't have a lot of time to work with a load so we kinda just had fun playing around. She was knocking down cans and milk jugs and grinning from ear to ear. I do believe we have a new black powder shooter on our hands. She's already asking about a bag and horn and all the other accouterments she needs. Kids, they're never satisfied.  ;)

Wonderful gun for a child!  I can still remember thinking I was king of the world when my Christmas present was a Red Ryder.
If you climb in the saddle, be ready for the ride.

Absolutely!

A good instructor always keeps targets large and close for beginners.  I just spoke with my ex-step-daughter who is now a young lady some 10 years later.  She still has great memories of our outings with a rifle.

I had her dry-fire a couple of times as well...

Me:  Did the sights stay on the target?
Her: Yes they did.
Me:  OK, we're ready.   ;Ds

Using 7 1/2 shot doesn't hurt either. ;)

And SHE is adorable too!  Dad obviously didn't notice, but she's left handed.

Yep, Dad noticed but when she's ready to part with it and move onto a full size rifle, it's easier to sell a right handed gun vs a left handed. Just thinking ahead, that's all. ;)

I'm not sure she'll ever want to part with it!  That looks like something she should keep a lifetime and pass on.

That's an inspiration for my own children.  They still have a few years yet. I keep telling myself that I have time.

I wouldn't bet on the left hand rifles not selling.  I notice here that the seem to sell.  Most lefts can't buy a production rifle, so have to look for a custom built one.

Keith,
She's already asking how much do I think she could get for it when she's ready to move on to a larger rifle. So we'll see. ;)

Oh yea, when it comes to money she doesn't miss a trick. She's a lot like her mother. :)
