Fordney Wrist
« on: April 03, 2015, 03:32:39 AM »
Having seen some examples of rifles built with diamonds shapes incise carved into the wrist and nails centered in the diamond, (Melchior Forndney comes to mind), what type of nail was used and does the strength of the wrist suffer?  I'm contemplating a similar build and am wondering what size nail contemporary builders have used.

Thanks in advance...

The one original Fordney I have seen appeared to have silver wire pins, not nails.
