WHHOOOO !  I think I'll get me a drink of water after all that.   ;)   Some good advice here, but get Tim's book, it will save you lots of headaches.

Kind Regards

Tandy moved. It is a big store now. Poor quality I ran into that one time included holes, scars, tick scars, three or four different thicknesses in a single piece, half a shoulder stiff and hard. and some with discoloration, stains, stretch marks, ect. That said, my last trip was just the opposite. Very decent quality, and I left with what I came for and wanting more. If you want the best leather, try RJF Leather company, or Wickett & Graig of America. I usually buy only Tandy's utility grades because I can hand pick, and most often get what I need.

If your leather is on the thin side I have reinforced those sheathes with this stuff <http://www.texasknife.com/vcom/index.php?cPath=587_729_738> vulcanized paper spacer material. I glue it on the inside of the sheath and it is stiched in with the leather.

Thanks, I'll look into it.  That is an interesting catalog they have.
