 A little more information wouldn't hurt. Looks like a restock to me. But are they french parts, or American copies? Some of the parts definitely look like field repairs.

The stock is younger than the rest of the gun.  All in all, it appears well preserved and I find them to be interesting guns.  Gonna shoot it?

No debate, on the stock, the rest begs a few questions. 

Given the features, have you arrived at a model year, or is there some cross-over of parts? 

Any stampings near the breech of the barrel, on the underside of the lock, butt plate, or on any the barrel bands that you could share, with us, as well?? 

Always loved that George Washington let every man take his musket home, when they were released from service.

Did not get the oppurtunity to investigate beyond the pictures, the lady that shared this with the group claimed that she had it authenticated etc. I agree that this is a restock, her authenticators claimed it was 1766 Charleville.



Thats what I know


It is a wall hanger at a bed and breakfast in Oregon
