Sorry about the duplicates...  photobucket?.
The more I tried to fix it, the worse it got and I didn't care to start over from scratch.
(Duplicates fixed by moderator.)

Anyway, .45 cal, 44 inch, B weight and it feels really good.  It's for my nephew in the style he wanted.
Hope you like it.

Jeff

Great looking rifle, Jeff.  I really like the style.  Reminds me a lot of the Frank House "Patriot" rifle.  Good  use of the Early Ketland lock too.

Great looking rifle, Jeff. We need to drag it through the mud, etc and initiate it!

In answer to a question:
The butt plate was from a rough forging purchased at least 25 years ago at friendship.  The trigger guard was another rough forging, gotten more recently via ALR from a gentleman in Williamsburg, whose name I can't recall.
The pipes, side plate, and patchbox were made by me.

Thanks for your comments.

Now, after shooting my first-built rifle for over 35 years I'm about to start, on the next one for ME.

Hey Jeff, I fixed your pictures.  Now, how about some more?

Really good looking gun Jeff.  Lucky nephew!  Very nice work on the furniture you made.  That patchbox is sweet!  In the picture of the entry pipe, how did you terminate the other end of the incised line?  What sort of nose cap?

Absolutely beautiful Jeff.  However, based on other items you have made, this is no surprise to anyone!  By the way, am I to understand that you started this 35 years ago?!?!?! OK, just couldn't resist.  Really great work. Feel free to adopt me as a nephew just anytime.

V-nice - a truely functional rifle- not completely plain, but a rifle anyone should be happy to shoot and hunt with. I like it.

Steve,  there you go exaggerating again.  Couldn't a been more than 32... 33 at the most.

Billy52, I think this is around number 13 or 14.

And I'm happy to say, my nephew is quite pleased with it and we're both anxious to get it out and shoot it.

Thanks again for the comments.  It's nice to have something to post on here every great once in a while.
I gotta get going on the next one before the urge passes.

I like everything about the rifle. Fit & finish 10/10
The steel nose cap with the copper pin is particularly great looking.
Sincere compliments!
