Jerry, that has to be your NEW hunter...I don't see any of the 'green' worn off yet!  What a lovely rifle!!  It would be a pleasure to have her as a companion on any hunt.

Nice gun Jerry. I thought your "hunter" was that nice English ca. 1820's trade rifle you made a couple years ago. :-\

That is a very drop dead gorgeous rifle. Just couldn't see myself pushing aside the briars and brambles with such a gorgeous weapon.

I like this rifle.  The side plate looks really nice, but as I look around at the pics, there are so many nice details.  Great job.

Good for him. I believe he bought the best gun you ever made, I loved that gun.
Of course, you'll probably be able to just squeak by with this new hunter. ;)

Nice work Jerry, A few added embellishments and you made some stock parts look really good.  A guy sent me a botched kit gun using the same Dickert side opener,  I may have to steal a few of your ideas to complete his project----You know what they say about imitation......

It's been said that a fancy rifle doesn't shoot any better then a plain one.
I always reply "it don't shoot any worse either"!

I also hunt with a fairly nice rifle.  I don't abuse it, but I hunt like I would with any rifle that had a wood stock.  I don't baby it much
I have killed elk, one moose, several antelope and several deer with it.  I hope to kill a whole lot more of them in the future too.
Happy hunting Jerry.  I hope you make piles of meat with that beautiful rifle.

It killed a couple of whitetails. I'm getting too old to carry it around so I just listed it on the CLA site.

Jerry,
Really nice carvings!!...I admire your ability, those cross-hatch lines have to be EXACT....otherwise one different line ruins everything~ very brave man!!! :o

yeah....birddog needed another rifle ::)......I hear he now has two guns.... ;D

very nice...........!

I'll second that about the sideplate.  I also like the little pendant hanging in the center of the of the rear carving.

Nice work Jerry,
