Rigby percussion match rifle

Have a Rigby percussion match rifle for sale.  All original parts but no sights.  SN in the 139xx range built about 1875.
34" .451 barrel with a nice bore showing a Metford style rifling.   A beautiful 4 screw bridal lock by Stanton.  Still has an original platinum lined nipple.  Now the problem......at some point the stock suffered a severe crack in wrist/lock area. Not sure when but at some time an attempt to repair using corregated staples was made.  A few small chips of wood missing but the repair is crude and worthless.  I think the only viable alternative is to restock the gun.  Priced at xx.xx plus shipping.

You know this rifle might be one of the Rigby's used in the match against the breech loaders, that has been so heavily documented. One of those shooters used a vernier sight mounted on the buttstock like this one.

Crack appears to be quite repairable from here. A restock would be the last thing in my mind for this gun. There are a number of people on this Forum who possess the skills and qualifications to make the cracks and staple marks go away. This is one handsome rifle, to be sure! Thanks for offering it here. Wish it fit within my interest range.

These rifles,even after neglect and abuse always shine thru with their quality and attention to detail.
I have made over the last 28 years about 30 of the Stanton style locks and borrowed a fine original from
the late Lynton McKenzie. I now have an order for one from a man in Canada near Toronto whp wants tomake a 38 caliber version for his wife.

Hope you don't mind my asking, but if the rifle is still with you can you confirm how many grooves the rifling has.

Here is a picture of the bore from the muzzle looking down to the breech.  I can confirm that it is a .451 bore.
