New Bag and Knife
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:22:07 PM »

The knife if forged from 1084 and has caribou slabs with a pewter band and bolster. The sheath is veg.tan. The bark tan shooting bag I made to go with my NE fowler. It is lined with a green pillow ticking.

Both items look like period pieces from early America - nice work ;).

Nice bag indeed.  Do you have a close up photo of the strap detail with the shot charger?  I am working on a design for a bag for my 14g early Bucks county smooth rifle.  I am leaning towards a double bag to accommodate both shot and round ball and like your shot charger strap.

PS: That's a nice looking powder measure. ;D

Thanks all! The Irish shot charger I purchased through Track of the Wolf(leather tube I made). I wanted to be able to remove it so I put a button hole on the tube and a button on the bag strap. There is also a loop sewn onto the tube that wraps around the strap. Critters are generally tied to my haversack.
The horn I purchased at Ft. Fredrick this year. I was told it might have been made by Art DeCamp but it is unmarked-I'd like to know the maker. It is clear enough to see through. Great horn!

Nice outfit, and a good choice of steel in the knife.

That's a beautiful pouch, classic style. I like all the accoutrement's, along with the attached Irish shot dispenser. Very nice rig.

Kind Regards...... Frank Barker
