Le Page pistol
« on: July 17, 2015, 01:44:37 AM »
I have a Le Page percussion pistol with a broken stock, 3 pieces.  The owner brought it to me and ask if I can make a new stock for him.  I would rather have the original one repaired which is beyond my skill level.

It must have been part of a pair as it has a number 2 inlaid in the barrel along with the makers name in gold.  The makers name is also in gold on the lock.  The metal is in good shape, lock and trigger work fine.  Barrel is rifled, about .50 caliber.

I know we are not susposed to discuss gun values here, but....  I will have the gun with me at Dixon's.  I will be at the Knob Mountain table all 3 days.  My question is what's the pistol worth verses what it would cost to restore it.  Please stop by and give me your opinion.

Pics to follow
Thanks,
Bill
