My take on sorta an early fusil before they went to that hump backed stock.  Walnut blank. Davis M&G continental lock. 20 bore X 36" OTR barrel.  7 lb. 4 oz. Comments welcome.   Tom

I like that one! I think the reason is that I made a similar piece but in 58 caliber.
Good job says I.

I like the lines of that gun.  Admittedly, I'm not a fan of guns with the "hump back stock" as you call them, though many folks like them and they're HC.  I've just never shot one that seemed to fit me well.  I imagine that gun will be a pleasant gun to shoot.

French or English?

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Hard to say---French or English.   Was started out as a Fusil de trait, then owner wanted wedges & hook.  So ended up as a hi-bred combo.---if HC/PC maybe a re-stock with whatever parts on hand ????  I have seen one French gun with wedges.....Just a shooter I guess.      I don't know I just made it....Tom
