The CLA Show is arranged in 4 large rooms and the adjoining hallways.

After visiting the registration desk, the first display is the CLA President’s Display.  Several ALR member’s work is included here.  When I originally posted the pictures below I failed to note the artist/builders of the guns in the Presidents Display.  I have corrected that omission below each photo and included a notation if the builder is an ALR member.  At least 8 of the 10 are ALR members!  If either of the other 2 fellows are ALR members, please let me know.

Builders, top to bottom, Brad Fountain, David Brennan, Roy Stroh (ALR), Darrin McDonal (ALR), and Ed Wenger (ALR) on table.

Builders, top to bottom, Mark Thomas (ALR), Curtis Allison (ALR), John Dixon (ALR), Eric Von Aschwege (ALR) out being photographed, and Jim Kibler (ALR) on table.

Down a short hallway and you come to the “Circular Room”.  Here’s a panorama (well, old school panorama) of the “Circular Room”.

Next is the Main Ballroom.  Here’s some shots of the live auction items.

Some of the silent auction items.

Is this beautiful or what?

I’m on a Buck’s gun kick currently.

Nice pistol, huh?

Cool display on Fess Parker and the real Davy Crockett.

The Antique Room.

A whole pile of antiques!  All for sale!

Dinner with some of the ALR crew.

And we get to do it all again tomorrow!

Hey Tom,

How did you end up in Barry Maxfield's space?  Where is he?

Thank you so much for the great photos.  Keep 'em coming please.

In your first two photos covering the CLA President’s Display, that's Ed Wenger's newest project laying on the table itself.

Looking forward to more show photos.   :-)   Best wishes,   Marc

Thanks Marc,

You are correct.  I was remiss in not recording the artist/builders names yesterday.  I have added them in the first post in this thread.  Thanks for catching that.

Here are a few pictures from Day 2.  This is just a drop in the bucket of what there is to see at the show.  Then there is the opportunity to talk to the owners at each table.  One of my highlights this year was being invited to handle and inspect a pristine original Leonard Reedy rifle.  (Jeff, thanks for taking me to that table.)

Pictures of some stuff that I thought was cool.  Sorry about the lighting.  Great for in-person viewing, not so much for photography.

50 years of guns produced by the gunsmiths in Williamsburg (next 3 photos).

The upper-most rifle in the photo below is an original Hawken.

Display of the “Woodbury” School.

Robert Elka.

Joe Valentin.  Copy of an original In-line flintlock, shown with the “frizzen” open.

Jeff Cline bag and horn set.

Random shots.

This was my first year at the CLA show, but it will not be the last, hopefully. It was outstanding! The caliber, pun intended, of work was truly magnificent and inspirational. Put this on your bucket list.

Ron,
Thanks again for the pics.  I trust you fellows had a good turn out at the ALR noon meeting at the food court.  I always enjoyed that.

Pletch,

We did have a good turn out for our little gathering, about 20 or so ALR members.  I think everyone had a good time.  I know I did!

Another OUTSTANDING show come and gone and 365 days until another one. Phooey!
My wife,Brenda and me and our friend and retired art teacher Sylvia Thompson who has never been to such a show had a great day. Sylvia was impressed with the outstanding quality of the work, met Jim Chambers and other notorious people all of who made a good impression on her.I delivered two locks,a Hawken type to Bob& Margie Browner and an English style caplock to a Canadian friend of many years for a project. The women wandered off early while I was BSing with Allen Sandy and the Canadian to look at whatever caught their eyes.
I saw a stunning display of cased sets of double guns by a maker I have never heard of and being the idiot that I am did not write his name down.He was away from the table.I picked up one of the locks and saw some of the most remarkable workmanship ever. If those were new locks, the time that went into them would be nice to know. Our opinion is that it was a day well spent and we thank all those responsible for putting this event together.

Thanks Ron for the tip down the show lane. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to do much walking around while at the show. Sorry it took a while to reply to your question, yes, that is my rifle.
I've been following the ALR for years, does that make me a member? lol Then I r 1
