I am researching my next project which will be a Fordney in .25. Does anyone have some detail shots of an original they can post or email to me? Thank...Bob

I don't know about any originals floating around out there, but a while back on the old board our good friend and master builder Bill Shipman displayed one of his "jewels". It was a superb copy of a Melchoir Fordney rifle. You may want to do a search in the archives.

Which Fordney family member do you want? I can get you pictures of a "Young" Casper with back action lock.

I am looking for clearer pics of a M. Fordney. I have the pics from Thoughts on the flintlock in its Golden age, but they are not as complete or clear as I would like.

The KRA book has a couple Fordney rifles and the KRA CD has another. The benefit of the CD is that you can zoom in on the details. It does get overresolved when you get too close. I'll check my other computer, where I have some photos stored.
Post photos of your project as it proceeds.
.25 cal? What barrel dimensions and what lock?
