My present project

 I just completes roughing out these to hand made locks for my present project. They are not finished. They will be detailed engraved and case hardened after being installed. This will be a double barrel French Flintlock pistol ,cased with accessories. If the lord is willing I will present this at the FEGA show in Vegas in 2017.  These two locks are 4 inches long each and the photo is actual size.

Very nice! Can't wait to see them all engraved. Are they copies of the French lock or your creation/adaptation?

Jerry, They are amazing. What are we seeing at the junction of the toe of the frizzen and the frizzen spring. Is that a link between the two?

 Believe it or not I never keep track of the time I spend on a project unless it is a commission.  I rarely ever do commissions any more. I started designing these and making patterns about 3 or four years ago.
They just sat around here until about 2 or three months ago. I go work on stuff when ever I feel like it for a few hours.
 There is one rule I follow. Do the very best you can no matter how long it takes  or how much it cost. These are based on an original French flintlock pistol. I have only seen two like it in my life.
  The design on the end of the frizzen springs is just a C scroll. It acts like the ramp you see on some late English flintlock springs, I think some L&R lock have a ramp on the springs.

Thanks all.
 I don't use anything you can buy for furniture. I make everything myself.  I am designing my own butt cap and trigger guard and will either cast them or fabricate them. The barrels will probably be made from a set of Belgian muzzle loading 410 shotgun barrels. I plan to make this a pistol. I like to make unique guns.
