I love those Getz barn guns and consider them originals in their own right.  When Don used to be active on the forum I always thought that he had the secret for enjoyment in building.  Do your own thing.

With these guns, architecture has to carry the day. Which it does here.

My compliments to you Don.  Did everyone check out those great lock panels?  And the great treatment of the forend.  I'd love to see a photo of the butt showing the end view.  Can this be arranged?

Hey Eric,   Now you and your dad will have to get out there and smoke up the place,   I will need to hear the results of that shooting match.    I like the way that Don installed the wooden butt trap without benifit of a metal butt plate.   Don still has a few tricks up his sleeve.   I am sure that you will have years of enjoyment with your new gun.

I can't believe I said that without adding: Mechanical correctness...use GOOD barrels and locks, and put them together well.....as if your life depended on it! You want to have confidence in it's ability to shoot fast & straight, of course.
I've talked to some who equated a barn gun with an old junker. Not so.

It does feel good.  I can pull it up with my eyes shut, open my eyes and I am looking down the sights.  I shoots very good too.  This one is my new deer gun.  Too bad I have to wait 10 months for the season to come in again.
