Recent build
« on: October 21, 2015, 04:55:47 AM »
I just realized that I did not post pictures of the last build I completed on here..  It took me over a year to complete this one because my presence kept being required at area hospitals..  The doctors needed someone to practice medicine on :(

I am not to hot at this posting of pictures, so I will have to give it a try and see what happens.

From what I can see, looks like a nice rifle.  Any other photos of closer details?  Hope you're doing better health wise!

No Ed, I let it get away from me without taking pictures.  The owner emailed me these photo's.  He is out hunting elk with it right now.

When I first looked at your post, it only had the top photo, or at least that's all that came up on my end.  Anyway, nice looking piece!  I especially like the panels and beaver tails, nicely done.  Thanks for posting the photos!

I thought the diapering with the silver spots would be a mistake, but the owner wanted it, so I did it..  After the gun was finished, I kind of liked it.
I stained it with that Orange stain that Muzzleloader Builders Supply offers and then with Aqua Fortis.  It didn't have enough of a red tint to suit me, so I hit it with a coat of Maple stain.  Came out just right I thought.

Has a great look.  Really like the tang carving.  I agree the diapering looks good.  Unexpected but it fits.

Very fine! Beautiful piece of wood and I love what you whittled it into. Hope you stay healthy long enough to make 100 more of them.

Very Nice! You did a great job with the wire inlay as well as the checkering and carving.

AND THIS WAS YOUR "FIRST" BUILD! ::)
Awesome rifle! To say the least.
The choice of wood, the carving, color, the inletting all really great.
My most sincere compliments.
How did you get that beautiful background picture to line up so well?
