sorry fella's....ment to reply~
That silver maple was a question we discussed....but the boys at Dunlops explained that not ALL wood is as we think...soft or hard....sometimes he explained that when a tree grows....it usually would be a soft species....but this one was 'hard'....so off to Dave to be shaped out as a early Germanic.....dave also said it WAS a hard silver maple piece. so I went ahead with the project~ it did have some nice 'flame below the PB...and I aged it as best I could...I just couldn't bring myself to beat that wood like 200yrs would do...... :P

tomtom worked on that griffin a long time.....but it's plagiarism from a fellow rifle maker here.....he said it was ok to copy him~~and I thank you!

thank you for the positives fella's.............It shoulders nice, sites are nice and clear for my old eyes.....if it don't sell, I will just keep it around~but I think someone will want a elk rifle.....with a C weight 54....a person could 'lode heavey' ;D

now on to the Lexington rifle.................................

Nice job.  Now you have to build a another one scaled down to tomtom's length of pull.

That is a good gun, you pulled off the step in the wrist real well. I used to build stuff like that with that kind of box all the time. Haven't had a chance for years to do something like that again.
