Dear Lord that is something.

I like how you incorporate your one style in the carving yet you still maintain a style that works.  What I am saying is your work brings something new, but is still familiar.

Jim I would like to say again how much I admire your "just completed rifle", she's lovely. However when I looked at your blog, the burl stocked fowler you posted on 02/14 took my breath away! What a magnificent piece of work! That has to be one of the most beautiful stocks I have ever seen. I applaud your talents and wish I had a fraction of your ability. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us peons, I look forward to seeing what come off your bench next. With all due respect, Mike

Everything aside, craftsmanship, artistry, carving, fabulous wood, color, fit and finish,  all of that stuff.... your lines of the underlying form of the gun are just superbe. All that other 'stuff' is icing on the cake. But it's tasty icing indeed.

Great work, Jim.

Jim, your work deserves praise that I may not be worthy of giving since my builds do not look nearly as good as what you have shown us.

Not that my opinion means much, but that is one of your (best) masterpieces.  Somehow you got your unique, contemporary touch on it and it still looks "original" for lack of a better term.  I thought some of your work was almost abstract in its perfection of form, and this one has that quality as well, but it is warmer and more accessible at the same time.  A paradox that doesn't contradict itself, or something like that:).  Real art and mastery.

Looks like the bar just got raised a tad higher.  Everything in the right place with no excess.  Very cliche but after the wonderful kit you just came up with and now this, you have a lot of people waiting to see what's next.  Whatever it is you're doing, keep up the inspiration!

Beautiful workmanship,  Jim

Times have sure changed. Gun control used to mean keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction

What's impressive to me is that it's so distinctively yours.
