One knife down
« on: November 19, 2015, 05:57:54 AM »
I have been taking things slow with the blades that I forged earlier last month. Just tonight I have gotten one of the them completed and overall its not too bad. This knife was the first project where a poured bolster was successful for me. Opinions, thoughts and constructive criticism is very welcomed and sought.

Project began with the rough forged blade on the right

Here are some better pics that my wife took for me in much better light.

Looks like a great handling knife.  Did you saw a slot for the tang, or how did you do that?

Very nice! That knife would look great on my belt. I like the bag too. Did you make that as well?

Good question...I actually did a hidden tang. I went back to the forge and changed the tang by tapering it out.

LOL no...that bag was made for me by a friend about 12 or so years ago. He has made me a couple more over the years...he did some awesome work.

Would either the knife or bag be for sale or trade?

Yeh Bill, It sounds like you need another project to start. How many hours are in your day? 35, 36?

Those little rivet forges like the one in my other post are pretty good for small knives. I have a bigger forge, but I have had it put up in storage for several years now. The forge I use is light and handy and I can easily move it in and out of garage and it is small enough to load up and travel with it I need to.
